Pope Franziskus - media Screenshots

Yesterday, former Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio was elected Pope and has taken the name "Franziskus" (Francis). He is the first Pope to ever take this name, but according to Canon Law, he can only be named "Franziskus I" after his death and when another Pope takes the name "Franziskus".

He is the first Pope from the Americas and the first Jesuit to ever be elevated to the seat of Peter. So, we saw some amazing history in the making yesterday.
